Warrick Education Center (WEC)
The Warrick Education Center is entering its 19th year as an alternative educational program serving the educational needs of students attending the three high schools, one junior high school, and three middle schools.
High School Credit
The high school program is designed for students at least 16 years of age who have dropped out of high school or who are at risk of doing so. The student-directed and self-paced curriculum offers students the opportunity to take ownership of earning their high school diploma. Students are offered the opportunity to attend either a morning session or an afternoon session. Each session consists of two 90-minute classes. The low student/teacher ratio affords each student individualized instruction as needed.
Students can be referred by their high school, parents, judicial system, or through self-referral. An intake interview is conducted with parent and student (if under 18) to explain the program and to determine admission into the program.
Oasis
The Warrick Education Center also offers Oasis, a program designed for middle school students who have been expelled from their home school. Oasis provides a three-hour session where students are provided instruction in mathematics, language arts, social studies, and science. In addition, students participate in a life skills program focusing on areas such as decision-making, conflict resolution, problem solving, and more.
Oasis has as its objective to help the students develop better habits of working within the rules and regulations of the school, to assist them in their academics, and to provide an educational environment that fosters positive self-esteem, offers positive reinforcement, and promotes the idea of self-discipline.

Alternative to Expulsion (ATE)
The ATE program is designed to allow high school students whose behavior has resulted in their being removed from their home high school the opportunity to recover some of the credits they would have lost that semester. Students attend a three-hour session using the Compass computer-based curriculum. The ATE program has as its mission to provide students with the means by which they can stay current with their credits and remain on schedule to graduate.

Credit Recovery Program (CRP)
The Warrick Education Center has initiated the CRP to meet the needs of upper classmen who need to recover classes which they have failed. This fee-based class meets from 3:30-6:30 each evening. Students utilize the Compass computer-based program to earn their credits. Students are referred to CRP through their high school counselor.

High School Equivalency
The Warrick Education Center also offers a High School Equivalency test preparation program. Assessments using the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) and TASC Readiness Test are administered to determine each student's academic competencies in the areas of science, language arts writing, social studies, language arts reading, and mathematics. An individualized student learning plan is then prescribed to prepare the student for passing the TASC test. Preparatory classes are offered either during the daytime classes or in the evening Adult Education program. Evening classes are offered at various sites throughout Warrick County.

Working in collaboration with the Warrick Adult Literacy Council (WALC), the Warrick Education Center offers the following classes:
- Computer Literacy - This includes Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and others.
- Adult Basic Education
- English as a Second Language (ESL) at satellite sites
